Apple varieties

The apple is probably the most common fruit on our table. And this is not without reason, since this culture grows well in our country and gives a wonderful harvest. But when planting apple trees, the question arises, which varieties of apple trees to choose. In fact, there are several hundred varieties, but in practice you can limit yourself to a much smaller list.

First of all, when choosing trees, you need to know that they are early ripening (harvest in 3-5 years), mid-ripening (harvest in 6-8 years), late-ripening (harvest in 9-14 years). And then you need to decide when you want to pick apples, at what time.

Early varieties are the first to bear fruit. You can choose white filling or pear. The first ones ripen at the end of July, and you should not overexpose them, because all the taste will be lost. Pear, on the other hand, has much smaller fruits and a sweet and sour taste. Both varieties tolerate winter well.

Summer varieties include: papirovka, lungwort and folk apple. Papiering is very common in our country, but lungwort is a tastier apple and better tolerates winter. The folk apple has a sweet and sour taste, and tolerates winter very well.

And finally, the most popular varieties, that is, winter ones. It is they who last the longest and delight our eyes in winter. These varieties include: grandmother's, october, antonovka and chellini. Antonovka is the most widespread variety in our region. There are several varieties of it. Apples are good in flavor and size.

Granny's and Oktyabrenok have a very pleasant sweet and sour taste, and chellini tastes wine-sweet. Most winter varieties winter well. Good luck choosing a varietal apple and a big harvest.

At my dacha, an October child last year brought its first harvest. In the cellar, apples lay quietly in sawdust until spring, from the latter, on March 8, the wife cooked a pie. This year, too, the harvest is good, we eat apples, vigorous. Even a little sweeter than steel, not as sour as in the fall.
