A huge bouquet of tulips: how to prolong the life of flowers?
A huge bouquet of tulips is exactly what can bring joy to every woman. Alas, such beauty “lives” for a very short time: even with a regular change of water and pruning of the legs, the flowers will begin to fade in four to five days. How to extend the life of spring beauties?
If you want a huge bouquet of tulips to last as long as possible, remember: these flowers are very fond of cold and even ice water. It is highly advisable to regularly add two or three ice cubes to the vase: this will perfectly refresh the flowers and extend their life. In addition, tulips are a real sweet tooth, so they will accept sugar with gratitude. The best "dessert" for the outstanding representatives of the flora is a teaspoon of sugar diluted in a liter of water. At the same time, do not forget that when changing the water, you will also have to thoroughly wash out the sticky walls of the vase. Another little trick is to dip the ends of the tulip stems in a handful of granulated sugar and let it soak a little before sending the flowers to the vase.
The stems of these flowers are soft enough and to prevent them from bending, they can be wrapped in thick paper and placed in a vase. After a few hours, it can be carefully removed: the tulips will still remain straight. Finally, it is worth adding a tiny pinch of potassium permanganate and a tablet of activated carbon to the water, and also placing the vase in a place where there are no sudden changes in temperature that have an extremely negative effect on plants. It is definitely not worth placing tulips in drafts and, moreover, near heating appliances.
In my opinion, it is very useful to own at least a few secrets that allow cut flowers to last as long as possible for the delight of others.
