Oak sage - the best garden decoration

Oak sage is also called oak salvia. This pretty plant is widespread throughout the European part of Russia, with the exception of the cold northern regions. It grows in the foothills of Central Asia, and in the Caucasus, and in the mountainous regions of Crimea.

The medicinal value of oak sage is at a low level in comparison with other types of sage, but its decorative qualities are at an altitude.

In nature, oak sage can be found on the slopes of mountains, hills, along rivers and roads, at the edges of the forest.

Due to this flexible nature and the possibility of good growth in various conditions, oak sage is very often used for landscape design, for decorating household plots. This plant occupies one of the first places among the large number of perennial species that are used for landscaping.

The main advantages of oak sage are:

• perfectly formed bushes, keeping the correct shape;
• long flowering period (approximately from June to August);
• the possibility of growing in partial shade;
• excellent resistance to temperature drop;
• disease resistance.

The plant's bright purple flowers make it easy to create color accents among other plantings on the site. An undoubted plus in the maintenance of oak sage is the fact that there is no need to propagate it specifically - the plant reproduces by self-sowing.

Compositions of oak sage planted nearby, irises with their xiphoid leaves and various host species look very beautiful on the site.
