The entire model range of KMZ mini tractors is capable of driving a two- and three-circuit plow, thanks to which it is possible to significantly increase the one-time working width.

Trailers and trolleys

Mini tractors KMZ 012CH are capable of transporting goods with a total weight of up to 500 kg. For this, special carts and trailers are used.

Cart

Mowers and rakes

Rotary

Potato planter and potato digger

To mechanize work with potatoes, a potato digger and a potato planter are connected to the KMZ 012CH mini-tractor, respectively.

Vibrating potato diggers dig out the soil at a depth of 15 cm, and then, with the help of screens, break up the piles and only root crops remain on the surface.

A plow is considered a simpler hitch for digging out potatoes. Its position must be correctly adjusted, because if this is not done correctly, then it will cut a large number of ripe fruits.

Snow blower, blade-shovel

KMZ mini tractors can be used as snow blowers. Special attachments pick up a layer of snow and, using a rotor, throw it aside at a distance of 10-15 m.

To clear the roads and roadside areas from snow, you can use conventional blade-shovels. The speed of working with them is much higher, while the result is the same.

Grader

HATZ 1D81Z engine

Like the previous engine, it is of American origin, but it is already produced by another company, Motorenfabrik Hatz. Installed on the latest modification of KMZ-012N. Single-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine, vertical cylinder and air-cooled. Differs in unpretentious operation and economy.

Transmission

The tractor was equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. Early modifications had 5 speeds forward and 1 reverse, later ones received a gearbox with 4 forward gears and 2 reverse gears.

The box is mechanical, gear, with a two-stage main transmission (cylindrical and bevel).

Chassis and transmission

The tractor is exclusively rear-wheel drive, no modifications with all-wheel drive have been created. Front - Steering wheels are mounted on a swinging, balance beam, which allows the front axle to follow the unevenness of the terrain. The track of both axles, depending on the tasks to be performed, can be adjusted in two positions, 70 and 90 cm.

The transmission for KMZ-012 is also mechanical, with a single-disk friction dry clutch. Disc brakes are installed in the gearbox housing.

The tractor is equipped with two power take-off shafts, front and rear. This significantly expands the functionality of the tractor, allowing the use of active attachments on the front linkage.

Hydraulics and Attachment

The disadvantage of the hydraulic system of this tractor is that the hydraulic pump is driven by the transmission. This means that when the clutch is depressed, the tractor hydraulics do not work.

Therefore, the control of lifting and lowering the hitch on KMZ-012 requires a certain skill. Both rear and front hydraulic cylinders are controlled using a spool valve.

The tractor is equipped with two attachments, front and rear. Both hinges have a classic three-point attachment system and are hydraulically controlled.

The appearance of the mini-tractor KMZ-012 is obliged to the engineers of the Kurgan Machine Plant.For the enterprise, which was not previously known to a wide range of consumers, the technique became the debut model, positioned as a simple and practical universal assistant for performing agricultural work of varying complexity. Earlier, the Kurgan Machine-Building Plant was known solely for the production of military equipment, in particular, BMP, which was supplied to more than 23 world states. For the first time, the tractor was presented in 2002 and soon won success among consumers not only in Russia, but also in Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, etc. when the products sold for export were not able to cover the costs of their manufacture. Thus, a universal domestic unit appeared, which competed with technology from the Middle Kingdom, since it performed all the same functions as foreign "colleagues", but was much cheaper.

Transmission

The very first modification of the car was equipped with five forward gears and one reverse. Later, the manufacturer rebuilt the gearbox according to this principle: four front and two rear. Modern tractor models have a six-speed manual gearbox with a two-stage main transmission - cylindrical and conical.

Unit speed indicators are:

KMZ-012 is produced in four modifications, including the base one. There is no significant difference between the models, the developers did not touch the dimensions of the car and its weight. Kurganets was equipped with several models of motors, depending on the company that developed them. The volume of the fuel tank in technology is 20 liters, while the fuel consumption at rated power is equal, depending on the type of engine:

• SK-12 - 335 g / kW, 248 g / hp. per hour of gasoline,
• "В2Ч" - 258 g / kW, 190 g / hp. diesel fuel per hour,
• "VANGUARD 16HP 305447" - 381 g / kW, 280 g / hp. per hour of gasoline,
• "HATZ 1D81Z" - 255 g / kW, 187.5 g / hp. per hour diesel.

Steering and brakes

The tractor is equipped with disc brakes located in the gearbox housing, functioning in oil and operating from the control pedals. In the depressed position, when the pedals are latched, the brakes are in the parking position. Separate braking is also possible.

The standard equipment does not imply the presence of a driver's cab, but it can be purchased for a fee. The working area is equipped with a chair with springs that can be adjusted. In front of the operator there is a control panel with various sensors. In the central part of the panel there is a steering column that can be adjusted. There is a fuel tank and batteries under the seat.

Running system

The running system of the Kurgan is built according to a 4 x 2 scheme, that is, the rear wheels are the main wheels. KMZ-012 is a rear-wheel drive unit, a model with an all-wheel drive has never been produced.

The front wheels, which are steered, have a smaller diameter and are fixed on a swing beam, which acts as a bridge, which allows you to smoothly smooth out irregularities in the road while driving. The width of both wheels, if necessary, can be adjusted in two positions from 70 cm to 90 cm.

Hydraulic system

Considering the fact that the mini-tractor can use attachments, the manufacturer has equipped it with two hydraulic attachments - front and rear, with a three-point fastening function. The front hydraulics move the machine to the right by 50-100 mm, the rear one moves to the right and left at the same distance.

The front and rear suspension cylinders are adjusted using a hydraulic spool valve.

User manual

Before starting intensive use of the KMZ-012 mini-tractor, the user must run it in. This procedure consists in a set of measures that can significantly improve the operating ability of the motor, while allowing each of the large units to work in. When starting starts, it is worth observing the state of the engine. The work of the latter should not be intermittent and noisy. And also it is worth making sure that there is no fuel or oil leakage.

According to the manufacturer's recommendations, it is worth using SAE 10W30 oil, which should be changed according to the table in the instructions. At the first stages of running in, the engine should be started at low speeds, without loads. The duration of this procedure should be about 70 hours. After this time has passed, you can put the unit at full load.

Maintenance of the machine before the conservation stage involves a number of steps.

Before starting to use, it is worth making sure that all clutches, brakes, as well as the steering system are in good working order.
The engine oil needs to be changed every 50 hours of machine operation. In summer it is recommended to use M-10DM, and in winter - M-10V. Before starting the fuel change, it is worthwhile to warm up the engine. After this procedure, the oil will be more liquid, and the engine will get rid of it faster.
The transmission oil should be changed once a year or after every thousand operating hours.
If the unit runs on gasoline, then it is worth using AI-80 or AI-92 fuel. In this case, the oil must be characterized by freshness and purity.
For the correct process of "conservation" of the mini-tractor does not require a lot of knowledge and effort. The storage room for the machine must be dry and well ventilated. You can purchase a special type of cover that will reliably cover the mini-tractor

Do not place your car near a fire source.
Before preservation, the unit should be thoroughly washed, paying special attention to the metal elements. Don't forget to remove stuck-on dirt and dust

After removing rust, it is necessary to lubricate the parts with oily substances.

In order for the service life of the mini-tractor to be long, the following measures are strictly prohibited:

1. overload the unit;
2. use the machine to perform tasks that are not typical for it;
3. turn off the engine at high speeds;
4. fill in oil and fuel that is not recommended by the manufacturer;
5. carry out maneuvering operations while the attachment is lowered;
6. carry out the transportation of passengers.

In order for the machine to function normally, it is worth adhering to the following rules:

• use only those fuels and lubricants specified by the manufacturer;
• clean and change filters regularly;
• correctly carry out the "conservation" procedure for the cold season;
• do regular inspection before each use;
• carry out maintenance according to the schedule specified in the instructions.

The most common problems with KMZ-012:

• decrease in power;
• increased fuel consumption;
• the appearance of black smoke while the motor is running;
• the occurrence of extraneous noise;
• excessive vibration of the unit;
• visually visible leaks from the oil or fuel tank;
• changing the functioning of the chassis;
• failure of the main systems.

In a situation where the attachment refuses to rise, it is worth setting up pedal free travel, replace or clean the drive discs, remove jamming in the discs on the splines. If the mini-tractor begins to malfunction during braking, then it is worth adjusting the free pedal travel, replacing the elements of the brake disc or pads. The gearbox may overheat if the gear clearance is too small or there is not enough oil. If the user began to notice that the starter does not function, then the reason for this could be an open starter, a poorly charged battery, a short circuit, or a poor contact of the magnetic switch.

Scope of application

The mini-tractor of the Kurgan plant is designed to work on small land areas up to 5 hectares. It is effectively used as a cultivator, mower, hay and snow cleaner. However, the scope of its application is not limited. The production of equipment is carried out in two versions - with an open or closed cabin, depending on the weather conditions in which it will be used. This makes it possible to use the tractor in any climatic conditions: rain, wind, snow, etc.

Upgrade options

The owners of the mini tractor often fix factory flaws and make their own changes to the equipment. The first and most common change is the replacement of the NSh-6 hydraulic pump with a more reliable and efficient NSh-10.

They decided to solve the problem of low weight and frequent slippage by installing twin wheels on the rear axle. This improvement increases the area of ​​adhesion of the wheels to the surface, reduces pressure on the soil and, as a result, slippage occurs less frequently under heavy loads. Such modernization is not provided by the manufacturer, therefore turning work is required for its implementation.

The tractor and all its modifications have been discontinued from serial production. In the secondary market, this technique is presented in a fairly large number, so there will be no problems finding it. The cost of a mini tractor depends on the configuration and technical condition. On average, they ask for 150-300,000 rubles for it.

Although its engine and transmission can operate reliably for years, it is recommended to pay attention to the following points when buying a used version: the general condition of the machine, the presence of noise during the operation of the engine and transmission.
